Four pathways

Pick the partnership that fits your pharmacy. Mix and match later.

Most pharmacy partners start with one pathway and add the others as the service beds in. You set the pace.

01

Bespoke clinic in your pharmacy

We run the private clinic inside your store. You host. Your brand on the door, our clinician behind it.

  • Clinician, kit, SOPs, PGDs, marketing pack provided. You provide the consultation room.
  • Full diagnostic test menu: STI, hormones, PSA, fertility, allergy, cancer markers, DNA, drug and alcohol, general health.
  • Every positive result managed by our clinical team. Pharmacy staff never deliver bad news.
Best for independents and small chains Go-live in 4 weeks
02

Become our prescribing partner

When our clinicians prescribe (positive STI, hormone, weight management, ED, HRT), the script lands at your pharmacy. We send you the patient.

  • First refusal for patients in your postcode catchment. Postcode-protected exclusivity radius.
  • Recurring private-prescription revenue stream: STI treatment, HRT, weight management, men's health.
  • GPhC-registered, indemnified prescribers. Independent-prescribing-ready pathway for 2026.
Best for stable dispensing teams Go-live in 6 weeks
03

Join our clinic network

Our national marketing brings private patient demand into your pharmacy. Become a sample-collection point in our 350+ clinic UK estate.

  • Patients booked through Better2Know's marketing land at your pharmacy. We share the demand we generate.
  • Postcode-protected exclusivity (typically 1 mile urban, 3 miles suburban, 5 miles rural).
  • Pay-per-visit revenue plus brand halo. Phlebotomy and trained-pharmacist services both supported.
Best for footfall locations Go-live in 2 weeks
04

Become our dispensing and fulfilment partner

Better2Know sells private medicines online. You dispense and dispatch them. A national fulfilment partnership for a pharmacy with dispensing capacity to spare.

  • We own the storefront, the brand, the prescriber and the marketing. You dispense and post the order. The patient never needs to visit.
  • Predictable national dispensing volume, with no footfall dependency and no marketing spend from you.
  • You dispense under your own GPhC registration, with a clean contractual split of clinical responsibility.

Patient care

Every patient, looked after end to end.

Better2Know manages the entire patient pathway, including all follow-up and clinical support, ensuring patients receive specialist care while protecting the pharmacy experience and brand.

  1. 1

    Sample collected at your pharmacy

Phlebotomy, swab or self-collect kit, depending on the test and the pathway. Your team logs the visit, hands the sample off, then steps out of the clinical loop.

  2. 2

Analysed at our accredited partner laboratories

Results are read and verified by our clinical pathology team. Many results in 1 to 2 days, all results within 5 days of receipt.

  3. 3

Positive results go to our clinical team, not your pharmacy

A Better2Know GMC-registered doctor or NMC-registered nurse contacts the patient by phone, with the counselling time, safeguarding and partner notification national clinical standards require. Your team only ever sees: "result managed by Better2Know."

HIV reactive: same working day Syphilis: same working day PSA flagged: same working day Other STIs & abnormal results: within 24 hours
  4. 4

Treatment routed back to your pharmacy

Where treatment is appropriate, our prescribing clinicians issue the private prescription and send it straight to your pharmacy under Pathway 2. The patient comes back to you to collect, not to complain. Recurring HRT, weight management, ED and STI treatment flow through the same loop.

  5. 5

    Partner notification and audit

Partner notification to national clinical standards (patient referral or provider referral, monitored), safeguarding for under-18s and vulnerable adults via our named Caldicott Guardian. You get a monthly anonymised audit summary: results managed, time-to-treatment, partner-notification outcomes.

24/7 patient helpline. Distressed patients call us, not you. Our clinical team picks up around the clock, including weekends and bank holidays.
Growing your sales

We do not just supply the tests. We bring you the customers.

A testing partner is only worth having if it grows your business. Here is what we do to drive sales, not just sit on your shelf.

We bring you the patients

National brand campaigns generate testing demand and route it to your postcode. You get bookings from our marketing spend, not just walk-ins.

A marketing pack, refreshed monthly

Window vinyls, counter stands, leaflets, a QR-code patient journey, in-store screen content and a social tile pack. New creative every month, ready to use.

Your team, motivated to sell

A staff champion programme rewards the team member who drives the most consultations. CPD-accredited training builds the confidence to recommend a test.

You see exactly what is working

A live dashboard tracks footfall, conversion, revenue and ROI by service. We review it with you and tune the mix to lift sales every quarter.

What to offer

You don't need to be a testing expert. That is our job.

We build your menu with you, starting with the services that sell best in a community pharmacy and adding more as your patients ask. Here is the range we draw from.

Onboarding and operations

How a pharmacy partnership goes live.

Four operational pillars every partner gets, sized to the pathway. A named onboarding manager owns the rollout. Most independents are live in 4 weeks; most multiples in 8 to 12.

Integration

PMR co-existence and clinical governance

Better2Know sits alongside the systems you already use: PharmOutcomes, Sonar, Cegedim Pharmacy Manager, ProScript Connect, RxWeb, Titan, Analyst. Booking, consultation logging and dispensing happen on your existing stack. We supply the clinical dashboard and audit feed; API integration is on the roadmap for multiples that need it.

Logistics

Kit dispatch, returns and stock management

Kit dispatch within 24 hours of order. FOC return postage on every sample. MHRA-compliant clinical-waste and sharps SOPs supplied for in-pharmacy phlebotomy. Automatic restocking with monthly usage reports; a kit-replacement SLA so you never run out mid-week. Shelf-life management monitored from our end, not yours.

CPPE-aligned modules and clinic-in-pharmacy nurse training

Online CPPE-aligned modules for counter staff. Face-to-face nurse training for clinic-in-pharmacy. SOP templates ready to drop into your existing folder structure. National demand-gen plus a local marketing pack

National brand campaigns drive top-of-funnel demand into your postcode catchment. Locally: window vinyls, counter-top stands, printed leaflets, a QR-code patient journey, social-media tile pack refreshed monthly, editable Canva templates, Google Business Profile copy, and in-store TV/screen content. How to engage us

Built for community pharmacy, not for procurement teams.

No RFPs, no framework call-offs, no procurement gymnastics for independents. A clear conversation, a commercial schedule sized to your store, and a contract you can sign without a legal team.

  • Standard pharmacy partnership: 12-month rolling agreement, mutual notice, no minimum volume for independents. Tiered gross-margin share for chains and multiples.
  • Buying-group route: Numark approved-supplier review in progress; NPA Trusted Partner application submitted. White-label co-branded versions available for member networks.
  • Multiple-store rollout: Pilot one store, prove the numbers, then roll out across the estate on a phased schedule. Mid-multiple terms include IG/DPIA, indemnity certificate, prescriber roster and audit dashboard up-front.
  • Postcode-protected exclusivity for Pathway 3 clinic-network partners: typically 1 mile urban, 3 miles suburban, 5 miles rural. Wider radius negotiable for the first partner in any catchment.
  • PMR co-existence: works alongside PharmOutcomes, Sonar, Cegedim Pharmacy Manager, ProScript Connect, RxWeb, Titan and Analyst. API integration roadmap available for multiples.
FAQs

The questions pharmacy owners and Superintendents ask first.

Commercial, clinical-governance and operational answers, written for the people who will actually read them.

What does it cost to set up?

Pathway 3 (clinic network) starts at zero set-up cost: you become a sample-collection point and we share the demand we generate. Pathway 1 (clinic in your pharmacy) is configured around your store; clinical cover, kit stock and the marketing pack are included in the operating model. Pathway 2 (prescribing partner) has no set-up fee; your standard private-prescription dispensing terms apply. Specific commercial terms are agreed in your schedule.

How are positive results handled?

Every positive result is managed by our clinical team. Pharmacy staff never deliver bad news. A GMC-registered doctor or NMC-registered nurse contacts the patient by phone with the counselling time and safeguarding national clinical standards require: same working day for HIV, syphilis and PSA flags, within 24 hours for other STIs and abnormal biomarker results. Your team only sees a "result managed" status. A 24/7 patient helpline picks up out-of-hours.

Will this distract my dispensing team?

Pathway 1 is run by a Better2Know clinician in your consultation room; your dispensing team handles greeting and payment only. Pathway 3 (clinic network) needs a phlebotomy-trained pharmacist or technician for blood draws but can run entirely on self-collect kits where appropriate. Pathway 2 (prescribing) uses the same dispensing workflow you already run today.

Does it integrate with PharmOutcomes, Sonar, Cegedim or Titan?

Our service co-exists with all the major PMR and consultation platforms used in UK community pharmacy. Booking, consultation logging and dispensing happen on the systems your team already uses. We supply a separate clinical dashboard and audit feed; API integration is on the roadmap for multiples requiring a deeper integration.

What if my Superintendent Pharmacist needs a deeper IG review?

The full assurance pack (DPIA, Data Processor Agreement, ROPA references, indemnity certificate, laboratory accreditation evidence, prescriber roster with GPhC numbers, safeguarding and Caldicott documents) is shared under NDA before go-live. Our IG lead can join a call directly with your SP if that helps the review.

Can we white-label or co-brand?

Yes. Co-branded kits, certificates and patient communications are standard for chains and multiples above an agreed volume threshold. Full white-label is available for buying-group launches. Independents typically run on Better2Know branding so the patient can verify our credentials independently, which most owners prefer.

How fast can we go live?

Pathway 3 (clinic network listing) goes live in around 2 weeks. Pathway 1 (clinic in your pharmacy) typically goes live in 4 weeks for independents and 8 to 12 weeks for chains, including SOP rollout and staff training. Pathway 2 (prescribing partner) goes live in 6 weeks subject to the multiple's standard supplier onboarding.

Are you GPhC-registered for prescribing?

Yes. Where prescribing is involved, our prescribers are GPhC-registered pharmacists and Independent Prescribers, or GMC-registered doctors. PGDs are signed off by our responsible clinical lead. The full prescriber roster with registration numbers is shared on contract and the roadmap supports the September 2026 IP-ready cohort.

What marketing and POS materials do we get?

Window vinyls, counter-top stands, printed leaflets, a QR-code patient journey, social-media tile pack refreshed monthly, editable Canva templates, Google Business Profile copy and in-store screen content. National brand campaigns drive top-of-funnel demand into your postcode catchment. A staff champion programme recognises the team member who drives the most consultations.

Do you train our staff?

Yes. Online CPPE-aligned modules, face-to-face nurse training for clinic-in-pharmacy, SOP templates, recorded refreshers, and CPD-accredited content aligned to national clinical guidance. Training counts toward GPhC revalidation requirements where applicable.

What about logistics, kit stock and returns?

Kit dispatch within 24 hours, FOC return postage, MHRA-compliant clinical-waste and sharps SOPs, automatic restocking with monthly usage reports, and a kit-replacement SLA so you never run out mid-week. Shelf-life management is monitored from our end.

What is the contract length and exit?

Standard 12-month rolling agreement, mutual notice, no minimum volume for independents. Tiered gross-margin share for chains and multiples. Documented data-egress and patient-record handover at end-of-contract; patient continuity of care is contractually protected.

How does this fit with Pharmacy First and Independent Prescribing?

Pharmacy First has done the on-ramp work for you: your team already runs the consultation room, the IG, the SOPs and the patient muscle memory. Adding Better2Know turns that unfunded NHS capacity into a paid private channel. Our Pathway 2 prescribing model is built to plug into the September 2026 newly-qualified IP cohort registering as prescribers on day one.

Why us

Six reasons pharmacy partners pick Better2Know.

The end-to-end offer no one else in UK community pharmacy currently provides.

Independent pharmacy turns its consultation room into a private testing clinic

The challenge

A single-store independent on a busy high street had a quiet consultation room, a loyal Pharmacy First patient base, and a dispensing line under margin pressure. The owner wanted a private services line that did not require hiring a second pharmacist or risking the pharmacy's clinical reputation on positive results delivered badly.

The solution

The pharmacy joined Better2Know on Pathway 1. We supplied the clinician half-day a week to start, the SOPs, the PGD library, the POS pack and the in-window marketing. The pharmacy supplied the consultation room and footfall. Sexual health, hormone profiles and travel clinics went live in 4 weeks. Every positive result was handled by our clinical team end-to-end.

The result

By month 9, the clinic was running 130 consultations a month at a 1.8% walk-in conversion. The pharmacy's gross-margin share is £4,200 a month, with 18 positive results managed by Better2Know clinicians in the first year. The owner has since extended clinical cover to two half-days a week and added the broader wellness panel to the menu.

Regional pharmacy group joins the Better2Know clinic network

The challenge

A regional group with stores in three cities wanted to diversify revenue without distracting any one branch's dispensing team. Each store had a phlebotomy-trained pharmacist and reasonable walk-in footfall, but the group's marketing budget could not move a private testing offer on its own.

The solution

Four of the group's stores joined Better2Know's clinic network under Pathway 3. We routed national patient demand from our marketing into the participating postcodes, with a postcode-protected exclusivity radius. Stores became sample-collection points for our full diagnostic menu, plus walk-in instant testing where the pharmacist was trained.

The result

The four stores collectively run at £21,000 a month in gross margin, with around 65% of patients new to the pharmacy. The group has added one more store to the network and is in conversation about adding Pathway 2 prescribing fulfilment for HRT and weight management on top.

Mid-size multiple becomes Better2Know's prescribing partner

The challenge

A mid-size multiple wanted incremental dispensing volume without compromising on its IG and clinical governance standards. Its Superintendent Pharmacist needed assurance on prescriber registration, indemnity and audit; its category buyer needed predictable monthly volume.

The solution

Better2Know set the multiple up as a named Pathway 2 prescribing partner. Scripts from our clinicians for STI treatment, HRT, weight management, ED and men's health are routed to participating stores in the multiple's postcode catchment. We supplied the full assurance pack (DPIA, indemnity certificate, prescriber roster, audit dashboard) to the Superintendent before go-live.

The result

Annualised dispensing revenue from the routed prescription pipeline is running at £180,000 across the participating estate. The multiple is now in conversation to extend the partnership across additional regions and to layer in Pathway 1 in-store clinics in two flagship locations.

Why now

The dispensing line alone will not get you through 2026.

Owners are being told, by their accountants and the trade bodies, to diversify into private services. Pharmacy First has already done the hard part: your team has the consultation room, the IG, the SOPs and the patient habit. Better2Know turns that capacity into a paid private channel, without the regulatory risk of building it yourself.
